Both cabins sit in the Groom Creek pines about six miles south of downtown Prescott. Both have a private hot tub, a stone wood-burning fireplace, a full kitchen, a washer and dryer and fast Wi-Fi, and both are pet-free and smoke-free. The differences are size, layout and how you like to spend the evening.
The larger of the two. It sleeps 6 across 3 bedrooms with 2.5 bathrooms, has a dishwasher, and sits on 1.5 acres backing onto Prescott National Forest, with a seven-person hot tub and a fire pit for the months when the county fire ban is lifted. It suits families, two couples sharing, and longer stays where a second bathroom and a dishwasher matter.
Worth knowing first: there is a staircase up to the cabin and two of the three bedrooms are upstairs, and the driveway is steep enough that four-wheel drive is required in the winter months. From $219/night, 2-night minimum.
An A-frame on two acres that meet the National Forest, with forest in every window and the hot tub on the deck. It sleeps up to 4 in 3 bedrooms (5 beds) with 1 bathroom, and the main bedroom, bathroom and kitchen are all on the main level. It suits couples, a small family, or a few friends who want quiet, and the Groom Creek Schoolhouse is a ten-minute walk.
Worth knowing first: four guests is a firm limit, there is no dishwasher, and there are several steps up the hillside to the porch. From $179/night, 2-night minimum.
